Successful first WelFarmers webinar on pig welfare in the EU

On February 19^th, WelFarmers successfully hosted its first webinar titled "WelFarmers: Our dedication stands in respecting pigs", a session that gathered over 200 attendees interested in improving pig welfare in the European Union.

The event, moderated by Javier Lorente (Global Technical Director at 333) featured expert speakers including Edgar Garcia (Teagasc), Anna Valros (University of Helsinki), Patrick chevillon (IFIP), and Vivi Aerestrup (SEGES).

During the webinar, panelists shared their reasons for joining the WelFarmers project and discussed its four main topics: ban on cages, pigs with undocked tails, avoiding pain in castration and space allowance and flooring. They also addressed the main challenges producers face in each topic and presented examples of good practices that have already been collected.
